Nokia Lumia 800 Update: Triples Battery Life

Bangalore: Since the launch of Nokia Lumia 800, it has got lots of criticism constantly for the low battery life. Two months before, the company released the firmware update to fix the battery life problem, but couldn’t improve the battery life a lot.

The new firmware update v1600.2487.8107.12070 has been rolled out in Singapore, U.S. and it is expected to be available sooner to other countries.

The update brings out many changes to the smartphone; on the camera it got four new camera modes like smart-group shot, panorama mode, self timer, action modes and also comes with white balance option.

As for battery life, WPCentral reports that the update has nearly tripled the battery life, what they were getting before. But surprisingly Nokia hasn’t said anything about this update, while the company usually posts any major updates in the Nokia Conversation blog.

For those who don’t know, Nokia Lumia 800 runs on Windows Phone 7.5 Mango operating system and powered by 1.4 GHz processor. The device features a 3.7 inch AMOLED screen with tough polycarbonate construction and corning gorilla glass protection. It also has a stunning 8 MP camera with Carl Zeiss optics, HD video playback, 16 GB of internal user memory and 25GB of free SkyDrive storage for images and music. Other features include GPRS, EDGE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and microUSB for connectivity.

The recent price cut of this smartphone in India has brought the price down to 23000.
