Nokia Launches The First Ever Lumia Tablet, Phablets


Bangalore: Nokia has stepped into new product segments with the release of a tablet and two models of phablet. With the new devices, the Finnish manufacturer is set to tap the potential tablet boom.

The first device, Nokia Lumia 2520 is a windows-RT based tablet and comes with a 10 inch wide screen. The 1080 pixel HD display is guarded by Gorilla Glass 2 protection. The device is powered by a 2.2GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor coupled with 2GB RAM and 32GB built-in memory. The gadget also sports a 6.7MP primary camera and a 2MP secondary unit.

The new tablet comes loaded with latest specs including 4G LTE connectivity, free SkyDrive storage, two USB ports and an 8000mAh battery. Lumia 2520 comes in red, white, cyan and black color variants and has free apps like Nokia’s story teller, Video director and Microsoft office preinstalled. The makers have added a touchpad on the keyboard for easy navigation and an additional battery offering upto 5 hours of extra charge. Lumia 2520 comes with a price tag of $ 499 and will be available for purchase in Finland, UK and U.S. by the end of the year and later to the rest of the globe.
