Nokia Launches Cheapest Windows Smartphone


Bangalore: The cheapest Windows phone will hit the market in the first week of November. The smartphone, Lumia 510 is expected to come with a price tag below 11,000 which makes it cheaper than Lumia 610.

In the initial days there were talks about the smartphone hitting the China markets first. But suddenly things changed when a teaser ad appeared on the Facebook page which revealed that Nokia would be releasing the phone earlier than what was expected and that India would be the first few countries where the phone would be sold.

Nokia Lumia 510 comes with a 4 inch WVGA display which supports a resolution of 480 X 800 pixels. The phone is powered by an 800 MHz single core processor which comes with 256 MB of RAM. The phone will function on Windows Phone 7.8 operating system. Lumia 510 comes with 4 GB of internal memory which is coupled with 7 GB of cloud storage. The smartphone also features a 5 mega pixel rear camera but surprisingly the phone is missing a front facing camera.  The phone functions on a 1300 mAh battery.

Along with these the phone comes with some Nokia preloaded apps like Maps, Transport and Drive. The customers will also have an option of 3 months of unlimited access to Nokia Music and Nokia MixRadio.

Sadly the phones running on Windows phone 7.8 OS, which will not be upgraded to the new Windows Phone 8. Nokia has also promised its users that few of the Windows Phone 8 features will be made available like the start screen and apps from Zynga.
