Nexus 5 To Start Shipping By October End

Bangalore: Google’s proprietary device, Nexus 5, manufactured by LG will start shipping to retail stores by end of October, says a latest report from Tech Radar.

Reports further claim that the rumored Smartphone will compete with Apple’s iPhone5S by hitting the shelves at half the price of its rival. U.K will be amongst the top countries to get Nexus 5 first and the price range is speculated to be around $446. Since U.K pricing is close to Indian pricing, Nexus 5 is likely to hit the Indian shelves at a price of 28,000, which is a decent price to begin with, since Google Smartphones are facing tough competition from Samsung, HTC and Sony offerings. The report also hinted that the Nexus 4 successor will match iPhone5S in terms of performance but specification details were not given.

Reportedly, the device includes a 5-inch display with full-HD resolution at 442ppi. It is powered by a quad-core Snapdragon 800 processor with 2GB of RAM and 16GB of inbuilt storage. The device also has an 8MP rear camera and 1.2MP front facing camera and comes with 2,300 mAh battery with wireless charging. Other features include Bluetooth 4.0 support, NFC, Wi-Fi and GPS.
