Motorola Unveils Its Second-Gen Moto E Smartphone

BENGALURU: The Moto G Smartphone maker, Motorola has made an exciting announcement of launching its second generation Moto E Smartphone. On the blog, the company announced that the new Moto E will be available in more than 50 countries in North America, Latin America, Europe and Asia, reports TOI.

Apparently, the 2nd generation Moto E will be available in two variants, one with the 4G LTE support and the other with just 3G. Similar to the previous version, both the phones feature a 4.5-inch display boasting a resolution of 540x960 pixels. Protected by a Corning gorilla glass 3, the Smartphone will run on the latest Android Lollipop 5.0 OS.

Apparently, the biggest change is on the hardware chipset. It shifts from a 1.2GHz dual-core Snapdragon 200 processor to an all new 64-bit quad-core 1.2GHz Snapdragon 410 processor chip with a 1GB of RAM. Adding more to it would be the 0.3MP front facing camera which was absent in the previous model. But the 5 mega pixel shooter at the rear gets Autofocus now without an LED flash.

The Smartphone comes with an 8GB of built-in storage memory which can be expanded via microSD card up to 32GB. The battery capacity has also been stepped up to 2,390mAh from the 2,080mAh on the first-generation model. The new Moto E will be available in black or white colors which can be customized using interchangeable Motorola Bands and Grip Shells.

However, the company says it will get in some software features from its Moto X flagship including Moto Display and Moto Migrate. "We're introducing the next generation, packed with more features and functionality to give people around the world even greater access to life's possibilities -- without a hefty price tag," the company said in a statement.
