Most Secure Android Based Blackphone 2 Up For Pre-Order




BANGALORE: The Switzerland based Smartphone manufacturer Silent Circle has made their privacy centric handset, Blackphone 2 available for pre-order. The phone was unveiled at Mobile World Congress (MWC) earlier this year will be available for purchase in September, reports TheMobileIndian.

The company has not spilled any beans regarding the price of the handset. But if we consider the earlier model of Blackphone, it was priced at $649 and the new phone will have either the same or higher price tag.

The new Blackphone 2 will run on the improved version of Private OS and it is called Silent OS. The OS is an Android based operating system with more optimizations that makes the business data secure. The highlight about the Silent OS is the feature called ‘Spaces’; it allow the users to create multiple profiles on one device.

The multiple profiles keeps the user’s personal and work files apart from each other, giving separate spaces for each profile. In a device, user can create up to four profiles that act as a different phone virtually and the customizations can be set accordingly.

Slient Circle claims on its website, "Blackphone is the world's first Smartphone built from the ground up to be private by design".

The Blackphone 2 sports an updated 64-bit octa-core processor in a yet an unknown chipset and a much larger 5.5-inch 1080p display covered in Gorilla Glass 3. That's quite a hefty update compared to the old phone's 4.7" HD screen.

Additionally, the Blackphone 2 sports a 3,060mAh battery, which features quick charging. The phone features include microSD card slot, LTE, 3GB of RAM and 13MP rear camera.
