Microsoft's Surface Windows 8 Pro To Be Available In February


Bangalore: Microsoft on Tuesday announced that its business oriented Windows Pro 8 Surface Tablet will be made available in U.S. and Canadian markets on February 9, and it is to cost lofty $899, reports Economic Times.

Microsoft also said that its consumer based Surface Tablet will soon be available in 13 markets all around the world.  

"The response to Surface has been exciting to see," said Microsoft Surface general manager Panos Panay. "We're thrilled to continue growing the Surface family."

Microsoft said that "the power and performance of a laptop” will come in small package with Surface Windows 8 Pro Tablet.

The company’s previous Surface tablet with Windows RT has got a tepid response from the consumers for the main reasons like it gadgets inability to run Windows desktop software. Microsoft is hoping to change things with this new Surface tablet which has same basic design as the Surface RT but slightly thicker and heavier, its Ivy Bridge i5 processor is arm the tablet to rum demanding Windows desktop apps. The device will be available in 64-gigabyte and 128-gigabyte models.
