Microsoft's Lumia 638, The Cheapest 4G Smartphone Hits India Via Amazon

BENGALURU: Log on to Amazon to find India’s cheapest 4G Smartphone for sale. Microsoft has launched India’s cheapest 4G Smartphone—Lumia 638 at 8,299.

Cheap doesn’t mean it lacks the essential and awesome features. Lumia 638 has a 4.5 ClearBack LCD display with 480 x 854 pixel resolution. It has Gorilla Glass 3 for protection and 1.2GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 quad-core processor with 1GB RAM. It also has a built-in storage of 8GB that can be further expanded up to 128GB via microSD card.

This Smartphone runs on Windows 8.1 and comes with the latest Lumia Denim update. There is a slight disappointment here as the new phone sports a 5MP auto-focus rear camera but lacks a front facing camera. The phone has softkey buttons for back, home and search which were been introduced in the new Windows Phone 8.1.

It is powered with 1830 mAh battery and supports 4G TD-LTE, Bluetooth 4.0, 3G, Wi-Fi, and A-GPS. The phone also includes ‘SensorCore’ which allows low-power motion sensing for fitness apps. The Lumia 638 in India will come with Cat 4 LTE support for bands 3, 7, 38, 39, 40, and 41. Other specifications of the phone are same as its Chinese variant released in June this year.

Here is a perk for Bangaloreans, Microsoft Lumia 638 is bundled with an exclusive offer here. The Banaglore consumers using an Airtel post-paid service in Bengaluru will receive up to 5GB of free data on 4G for 2 months after activating their SIM. The offer will be available until 31 March 2015.
