Microsoft Surface RT Price Revealed, its Less than New iPad

Bangalore: Microsoft showcased the Surface tablet in June, 2012 and now finally details about the pricing of the device are coming out. With an intention to grab a better pie in the booming tablet market Microsoft’s new Surface RT tablet will cost lesser than new Apple iPad.

Microsoft’s entry into the area of manufacturing gadgets took everyone by surprise. They have announced that they would price their 32 GB 32GB without Touch Cover Wi-Fi version at $499 (approx. 26,000). If you want to buy the Touch Cover as well it would cost you an additional $120 (approx. 6,500). The 64 GB version of the tablet is priced at $699 (approx.37,000) which included the price of the Touch Cover as well.

Microsoft has priced the tablets in such a way that they would prove to be direct competition to Apple’s tablets. Apple with their tablets had taken away the market share of laptops and desktops which in turn affect the market for Microsoft. With their Surface tablet now Microsoft is looking to hit back at Apple products and regain their lost market share.

The surface will be out in the market on October 26, 2012 when Microsoft launches its Windows 8 Operating system. You can place orders from October 24, 2012 when the company will make a few versions of surface tablets available for pre order.
