Micromax Introduces Canvas Evok with 3GB RAM and 4G support

BENGALURU: While the smart phone market is booming in India, companies are in great competition with new phones being introduced each day. Adding up to the array, one of the largest Indian mobile manufacturers and a major player in the budget segment, Micromax introduced its latest handset Canvas Evok in the country.

Expanding its Canvas series, the company has introduced its latest smart phone targeting the budget segment buyers by keeping the price at an affordable 8,499 rupees with some pretty impressive features. The phone comes with a 5.5-inch HD display offering 1280 x 720 pixels with Gorilla glass 3- the previous version of Gorilla glass.  This device is powered by a 1.4GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 415 octa-core processor supported by 3GB RAM, that sounds pretty good at this price tag.

The phone is equipped with a 13MP rear camera and a 5MP front camera. Even though the company claims that the rear camera's sensor area of 1.12um reduces image noise and captures low-light pictures expertly, it may not reflect upon usage. So the pixels are not such an important aspect at this cost. The company also claims that the wide angle lens for front camera takes the selfie game to a whole new level…but felt like a fairy tale.

Micromax Canvas Evok has an impressive ROM to keep your precious memories safe and enjoy on-the-go access to files, music and pictures, thanks to the 16GB ROM! The company has also managed to keep up with the 4G trend by adding 4G support to its latest release. The phone runs on Android lollipop v5.0.1.-again the previous version of Android OS. They have also added a notable 3000mAh battery to keep the phone running the whole day without making you run for the charging port.

Crafted aesthetically with some good flair, the smart phone comes with a smooth carbon fiber back panel giving a nice look for this phone. The Canvas Evok is also chamfered at the middle frame for a better grip, which gives it a thinner and layered appearance. Though a reasonably priced smart phone other tech giants also offers some appealing devices around this price range. The Canvas Evok released earlier this month will be available exclusively through the online retailer Flipkart.
