MSI launches WindPad 100W tablet at 34,990 in India


Bangalore: The latest to join the booming tablet PC bandwagon is MSI, which has launched its first tablet PC, the WindPad 100W in the Indian market at a price of 34,990. The tablet is available at all eZone stores across the country. Running on the Windows 7 platform, the MSI WindPad 100W will be the first Windows 7-laden tablet to hit Indian stores. Powered by the Intel Mobile processor, the tablet device from MSI has a 10.1inch multipoint display touchscreen with a 1024 X 600 pixel resolution. MSI has created a customised user interface called the WindTouch that supports touch function. The WindPad 100W has dual cameras - a front facing and one located at the rear for image and video capture. For security, the company has loaded the tablet with face recognition software called the EasyFace that comes with biometric technology. MSI distinguishes its tablet by giving long battery life and being light weight. The battery runs for six hours and the weight of the WindPad 100W is 800 gram including the battery. The dimensions of the tablet are 274 X 173 X 18.5mm. The device ships with 2GB of RAM and its memory can be extended up to 32GB with a SSD card. Connectivity features include Wi Fi, USB and a HDMI port. The WindPad 100W packs in some exclusive apps like MSI WindTouch, EasyFace, Taskbar Magnifier Tool and Photo EasyViewer. Among its other features include screen rotation, light sensor detection and G-sensor gravity detection. Speaking on the launch of the tablet, Eric Kuo, General Manager, MSI India said, "With MSI becoming an increasingly popular brand, we believe it would be of tremendous value to customers to be able to offer new WindPad tablet at convenient retail location of eZone.
