Lenovo Steeping into the Smartphone Realm


Las Vegas: Lenovo, the world’s second largest PC maker has now entered the smartphone market with the launch of Lenovo S2 at CES 2012. With this launch at CES Lenovo has revealed its plans to enter the world market of smartphones, although S2 was launched a month before in China.

Lenovo S2 is powered by dual core 1.4 GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon processor and runs on Android 2.3 Gingerbread OS. Lenovo offers two different configuration to this smartphone, the 8 GB version will be available with 512 MB RAM and 16 GB version will be available with 1 GB RAM.

It sports a 3.8 inch touchscreen display with 480x800 pixels of resolution, 8 MP of rear camera with LED flash, autofocus and HD video recording feature and the front facing camera has 0.3 MP for video calling and video chats. For connectivity it has micro USB, micro HDMI ports, Bluetooth and Wi-Fi.

Along with this smartphone Lenovo has also announced a personal cloud service that allows syncing all the multimedia files like music, photos and all other data. The company has not yet made any official announcement regarding the price and availability of S2, but it is sure that the phone will be available in China soon.
