Lava Iris X1 Selfie Smartphone Launched At Rs 6,777


BENGALURU: Indian phone maker Lava has announced an entry-level selfie-focussed smartphone called the Lava Iris X1 Selfie. The phone will be priced at Rs 6,777 and will be selling in all multi-brand retail outlets as well as through online channels from early next week.

Coming in three colours: Royal Black, Icy White and Purple, the Lava Iris X1 Selfie features a 5MP front-facing camera along with an LED flash unit to let you click selfies even in low light conditions. On the rear side you get an 8MP camera along with an f/2.0 aperture along with an LED flash unit.

The Lava Iris X1 Selfie comes with a 4.5-inch IPS display protected by Asahi Dragontrail Glass and has a resolution of 854 x 480 pixels. The phone is powered by a Mediatek MT6580 SoC which has a 1.3GHz quad-core processor paired with 1GB of RAM. On the storage front, you get 8GB of internal storage and the option to add an additional 32GB via the microSD card slot. A 2,000 mAh Li-polymer battery completes the picture.

The smartphone’s camera also supports gestures. Pictures can be clicked by making a “V” Gesture for front camera that helps capturing images with victory symbol “V”. Alternatively it also supports voice controlled photo capture methods which assist in clicking pictures by saying “Capture” or “Cheese”. Further, there is a ‘Tap to Capture’ feature which allows users to focus and click images with a single tap.

Speaking on the launch of the Iris X1 Selfie, Navin Chawla, senior vice president of Lava said, “We realize that there is a need for such devices and with our R&D efforts this offering has a perfect combination of hardware and software driven front camera capabilities.”
