LG launches Cinema 3D Smart TVs


Bangalore: LG has proudly announced the unveiling of its world's first 3D TV in India, which offers the viewers a 'flicker free'viewing. LG promises to get the 3D viewing at your home through the 3D TVs. The two models of Smart TVs are named as LW6500 and LW5700. These models are priced at a whooping rate of 95,000 to 1, 65,000. Although the size of these smart TVs vary, The size of LW6500 ranges from 42 to 47 inch size, and the LW5700 is sized from 42 to 55 inch size. LG has also incorporated its proprietary FPR (Film Patterned Retarder) technology in their smart TVs. It also allows the viewer to convert the 2D technology to 3D technology. The advanced FPR technology from LG lets the viewer enjoy the cinema without the common glitches of a 3D technology, like cross talk which results in dizziness and fatigue in the eyes of the viewer. LG has also got the certification from Intertek and TUV for flicker free certification, which are one of the world's renowed certification agencies based in Europe. Additional features of these models include the Web browser, Wi-Fi technology, certified Windows 7, wireless HD, picture mode and sound mode, TV with stand, LG App store, USB, Twitter, YouTube and Flickr. They also have tie ups with channels like Hungama, NDTV, Indiatimes and others. The initial roll out will include a total of seventeen models in various price segments. They also include 3D glasses for better and comfortable viewing. Although LG has offered four sets of 3D glasses at the launch, an additional pair would cost the customer around 1000. LG Electronics also said that it will invest 300 crore in India on various marketing initiatives of its flat panel televisions this year.
