LG delivers stereoscopic 3D in its A510 notebook

Bangalore: LG has unveiled the A510 notebook touted to be the world's first premium notebook to deliver cinematic 3D experience at near Full HD quality. The A510 sports a 15.6 inch LCD with LED backlighting and 1920X1080 resolution. The notebook is capable of running on various processors. This gives the users to choose from Intel's Core i3-series up to the quad-core i7-840M running at 1.86GHz. The A510 comes with a memory of 4GB and a 640GB hard disk drive. It also features a Blu-ray drive. The NVIDIA powered graphics require special polarized glasses to view 3D images on the notebook. The notebook comes loaded with a 1GB Nvidia GeForce GT 425M graphics card. The TriDef software loaded in the notebook is responsible for converting 2D into 3D content on demand. The A510 ships with a pair of polarized glasses and a set of clip-on 3D lenses for regular glass wearers. Dr. Skott Ahn, President and CEO, LG Electronics Mobile Communications Company said, "3D is increasingly becoming a common part of the home entertainment landscape. As more and more people consume content and interact via portable screens, we think this is a natural next step for business travelers, college students and small office/home office owners. " The notebook is expected to ship in October 2010 in the Asia, South America, the Middle East and Africa markets. The release date of the notebook in North America has not yet been revealed.
