'LG Optimus Vu' Smartphone: Big Screen and Stylus


Bangalore: LG introduced its first large sized, pen-friendly Android smartphone ‘Optimus Vu’ which is going to give Samsung Galaxy Note a good company and competition. The LG Optimus Vu has a stunning 5 inch IPS (In-plane switching) display with 1024x768 pixels of resolution and 4:3 ratio aspects. The company has designed this smartphone-tablet with a pen-friendly interface.

The device measures 8.5 mm thick and 90.4 mm wide, which is wider than the Galaxy Note while the Galaxy Note is 9.7 mm thick and 83 mm wide. The Vu is powered by 1.5 GHz Dual Core Snapdragon Processor, 1 GB of RAM and runs on Android 2.3 Gingerbread operating system. It also has 8 MP rear camera with autofocus and LED flash, 1.3 MP front facing camera, 32 GB of internal memory and for connectivity it has LTE, HDMI, DLAN, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth.

“The Optimus Vu: was designed to maximize what customers could do with a smartphone,” said Dr. Jong-seok Park, President and CEO of LG. “By offering an optimal 4:3 ratio viewing experience, 5-inch display combined with superfast LTE technology, Optimus Vu: is just one example of what we can achieve when we combine our best technology with customer needs.”

The device will be available by March in Korea, but the price and availability in India is not been disclosed.
