LG Introduces the Action CAM LTE for Worldwide Sale


BENGALURU: The immense success of GoPro in establishing itself as a premium manufacturer of action cameras has paved way for lot many competitors to venture into this field. LG is the latest to tread this direction with the addition of LG Action Cam LTE to their increasing range of smartphone accessories. The device introduced back in May, packs powerful features which allow users to record videos in dynamic environments and eventually stream it directly on the web.

The camera is supposed to be water and dust resistant as it is IP67 rated. Moreover, immersing Action CAM LTE underwater up to a depth of 1 meter doesn’t cause the device any harm. Additionally, LG provides a mount for the camera, and the device features extensive compatibility with most of the other third-party action camera mounts and accessories.

The LG Action CAM LTE features a 12.3MP sensor with 150 degree wide angle lens, combining support for 4G LTE. The camera additionally houses Wi-Fi, USB Type-C, and Bluetooth 4.1. The camera is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 650 coupled with 2GB RAM. The device also incorporates support for microSD card extending up to a capacity of 2 TB. The gadget not only enable streaming of HD video at 30fps, but also record video in multiple resolutions, viz. HD (120fps), Full HD (60fps), and Ultra HD (30fps).

The Action CAM LTE app is available on Google Play which enables users to download images and videos captured by the device, on their smartphone. The device has been estimated to show a recording capacity extending up to 3 hours of Full HD resolution videos on smartphones running Android 5.0, iOS 9, or later versions. The device can additionally serve as a CCTV camera, assisting to record all the content on the user’s smartphone. The action camera’s battery is rated 1400mAh and is ideal for long Full HD recording. LG has already started rolling out the new gadget in South Korean markets, but the price and availability for the camera in the international market is yet to be revealed.
