LG G Pad 8.3 Unveiled, Rivals iPad Mini With Better Specs


Bangalore: After two years of joining Android brigade, LG has unveiled its first tablet with high-resolution screen and better specs than iPad mini, trying to take on the Apple’s dominance in the mid-sized tablet market. 

G Pad has an 8.3 inch display with a 1920x1200 pixels resolution, which beats iPad mini’s 1024x768 resolutions screen. The new tablet by LG is said to gain the popularity as Apple has been delaying the launch of iPad Mini with retina display.

The tablet also packs other impressive specs. Under the hood it has Qualcomm's 1.7GHz quad-core Snapdragon 600 processor, coupled with 2GB RAM. It comes with 16 GB of internal memory, which can be expanded to 64 GB via microSD. G Pad runs on Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean.

It has a 5 megapixel rear camera and a 1.3 megapixel front camera and comes with massive 4,600mAh battery.

The South Korean Smartphone maker has also added a feature that makes it easy to for the users to check and send messages through the tablet using their Smartphone.

G Pad comes in Wifi only version will go up for sale in South Korea from next week for 550,000 won, about $510 and it is available in two colours - Black and White. The device will be introduced in some 30 countries by the end of this year.
