Karbonn Launches Four New Touchscreen Phones


Bangalore: Karbonn Mobiles has launched four touchscreen phones in the price bracket of 2,900 to 4,500 , with screen size between 2.8 inch and 3.5 inch. The most expensive among them is K 1616. It features a 3.5 inch HVGA capacitive touchscreen. Other features include a 3D UI, G-sensor, proximity sensor and 3.2 MP camera. Karbonn also introduced a new Application store, K Zone, available on phone. The phone is priced at 4599. The second phone is the K 1818, which comes with a 3.2 inch WQVGA screen. It has similar 3D user interface like the K1616, with other features of the phone also similar to K 1616. The memory is expandable upto 8 GB. The phone is priced at 3699. K1515 is next in line and features the same screen size as K1818, with better resolution, but has lower feature list, including a smaller 2 MP camera and GPRS support. Other features include FM Radio with recording, 8 GB expandable memory and multi-language support. The phone is priced slightly higher at 3799 The cheapest in the list is K1010 with a 2.8 inch screen. It features 1.3 MP camera, 8GB expandable memory, GPRS for web browsing, schedule FM recording and phone backup. However, there is no support for K Zone apps, and in line with its low end features, it is priced lower at Rs 2899. Shashin Devsare, ED, Karbonn Mobiles said, "After a strong market research, we realized that a huge demand and supply gap existed in the smart feature phone category. There are very few options available, and that too at very high prices and the market is in great need of good multimedia feature phones at reasonable prices. So we decided to come up with a range of smart feature phones with interesting applications and amazing features."
