Is Lenovo Launching Quad-core Tablet PC?


Bangalore: Lenovo is planning to launch Le Pad Tablet PC by 2012, reports Digitimes. After the introduction of Lenovo Le Pad Tablet on 23rd August, Lenovo is planning to come out with a Quad-core Le Pad or Le Pad Tablet PC.

As per the report, the forthcoming tablet PC is going to hit the market on early 2012. The former Le Pad Tablet has Nvidia Tegra 2 dual core processor but this time Lenovo included Quad-core processor. Earlier Lenovo has introduced Android 3.1 Honeycomb, active digitizer stylus, IPS screen, storage up to 64GB in its ThinkPad Tablet which is also very eye catchy.  So it’s assumed that the upcoming Tablet PC will also bring success in the market. However, the Le Pad Tablet PC features and price are not yet mentioned.

Quad-core means four-Core Processors for example AMD Phenom II X4, Nvidia Tegra 3 and Intel Core i7. Dual-core processor will soon take a back seat because of Quad-core processor’s high performance. There are many upcoming devices equipped with Quad-core processor. Some of those devices are: HTC Edge, Samsung Galaxy SIII, and then Apple also testing with Quad-core processor in iPhone5. ASUS Eee Pad Transformer Prime Tablet will be out in the market by the end of 2011 which claims to be the first Quad-core processor so far. It can assume that if these all devices make their moves by 2012 then they would become the competitor of Lenovo Le Pad Tablet PC which has included Quad-core processor.

According to the report, sales of Lenovo’s Tablet are about 8.4 percent which just standing after Apple’s iPad in China and with the upcoming launch of Quad-core processor Tablet PC Lenovo plans to acquire more market in his home land.
