Is Flipkart's Digiflip Pro XT 712 Worth The Money?


BANGALORE: By throwing its considerable brand power behind retail products, the online Giant Flipkart has taken a calculated move by releasing the Digiflip Pro XT 712 in India. With these developments the e-tailing major will sell its own products alongside those of every other brand—with a bit of more promotion, reports Rediff.

Going by the trend where online-shopping has seen a distant rise in the recent past. Additionally, to capture the mood, various e-tailers are coming out with their own products, and Flipkart is one among them who has added a new product category to its private brand Digiflip.

Even though there is a wide array of budget tablets from a growing bunch of home-grown manufacturers, the one from Flipkart’s stable is believed to be the first tablet from any Indian e-commerce company. 

Though the Digiflip Pro XT 712 has simple looks, but it comes with a host of features. Priced at 9,999, some of the highlights of the tablet is it comes with a 7-inch HD display, Dual SIM support with voice calling and 3G connectivity. The specifications are definitely better compared to most tablets in the price range. 

When it comes to build quality and the performance, the rear panel is not removable, but the plastic strip along the top edge snaps off to reveal the two SIM card slots and microSD card slot. There's a large chrome-ringed camera with a flash in the upper left corner. Overall, the back is pretty makeshift and you will probably have to conceal it with a case or you can keep it plain.

Some of the other specifications is the device is that it is powered by a 1.3GHz quad-core MediaTek processor with Mali 400MP2 graphics, and has 1GB of RAM. There's 16GB of internal storage space and support for up to 32GB more via microSD. The device runs stock Android operating system and does not come with bloatware apps that often eat up storage space, and eventually, hamper the performance of the device.
