Is Apple Planning to Launch 12.9 inch Tablet in 2015?

BANGALORE: The Californian company, Apple is planning on releasing a larger 12.9-inch screen iPad the next year. The company is all set to start the production of the iPad sometime early in 2015 and Apple has been in touch with the suppliers for the bigger screen devices for more than a year now, reports Reuters.

Apparently, Apple has been facing issues with the sales of the iPad devices and this is the reason behind the larger version of the iPad. Presently there is only a 10-inch and 7.9-inch tablet from Apple and these are not replaced by the users frequently and the sales of the larger screen Samsung phones add to pulling down the sales.

It seems that iPad sales around the world had slowed down but have gone up in India. Luca Maestri, Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer, Apple said "Turning to iPad, we sold 15.3 million units, compared to 14.6 million in the June quarter last year," said Maestri. "iPad sales grew overall in the developing markets with particularly strong year-over-year growth in the Middle-East, where iPad sales were up 64 percent, in China where they grew 51 percent, and in India, where they were up 45 percent."
