IFA 2016: Another sub-brand for Huawei?

BENGALURU: A teaser for its event at IFA was released by the Chinese technology company Huawei. The teaser has been scheduled for September 1 at 10:30 am CES (2 pm IST). There has been a slight hint given by the teaser that the firm may launch another sub-brand as reported by The Times Of India.

Huawei launched its "online-exclusive" sub-brand Honor in the year 2014.  A slew of smartphones under the sub-brand has been launched by the firm in India with Honor 5C being the latest.

Huawei already made devices like the Ascend Mate 7 and TalkBand fitness tracker, and has also built own-brand devices for others such as the Kestrel for UK network EE. As reported by Phanroid during the launch of previoud brand “The manufacturer announced its new Honor brand for Europe in Berlin, Germany today.”

There were reports earlier that IFA 2016 will be getting underway within the next week or so, and Huawei wants to make sure that everyone knows that it plans to change things up. It was also reported that the company has sent out the invitation to its IFA event, which is scheduled to start September 1st at 10:30am (CEST) or 4:30am for those on the east coast of the US.

A slogan in the teaser is displayed which shows "Defy Expectations", which looks like a corner of a smartphone. The company’s plan wasn’t revealed explicitly by the trailer but there have been speculations ever since the teaser came out about another sub-brand for Huawei.
