HP : TouchPad to beat iPad


Bangalore: The euphoria created by HP Touchpad continues even further with its European Chief Eric Cador claiming that HP TouchPad will be "number one plus" product in the market and will surpass the popularity of iPad. The comment came from Eric in a press conference in Cannes. This tablet will feature web OS 3.0, a 9.7-inch display (1024 x 768 screen resolution), a dual-core 1.2GHz Snapdragon CPU, inbuilt gyroscope, accelerometer, compass and 16GB / 32GB of internal storage space. There's also a front-facing 1.3 megapixel webcam, support for video calling, 802.11b/g/n WiFi, Bluetooth 2.1+EDR, A-GPS (3G model only), "twice the memory of a Pre 2" and a set of stereo speakers. TouchPad includes essential productivity apps right out of the box. One can collaborate with colleagues using Google Docs or Box.net and will enable you to browse the full web at blazing speed with support for the latest web technologies, including a beta of Adobe Flash Player 10.1. HP promises to offer amazing gaming experience also and as far as music is concerned one can listen to music with amazing sound quality, thanks to Beats Audio. One can easily download movies or TV shows on TouchPad from the HP Movie Store to watch on a flight or while travelling anywhere. HP has well established itself in the personal computer market and now it wants to be equally successful in tablet world and capture the number one position. The TouchPad is expected to be available in the market by the end of the summer, with the 32GB version selling for a reported $599 (26, 955).
