Google's New Project Ara Spiral 2 Gearing To Set Afloat


BANGALORE: To commence marketing its Project Ara Smartphone with swapping modules, Google has gone on to the next level by improving the prototype of the new smartphone and assembling the modules on electromagnetic couplings. With this, Google also prepares to frame a pilot program for its upcoming device Spiral 2 in Puerto Rico, reports The Verge.

The latest edition of the project being in its second stage has been entitled as Spiral 2. The multitudinal juncture is in its second stage and is still in gear to find stores in U.S. to market the modular device, said Google in its conference on Project Ara.

The smartphone with its notably light modules is sure an eye catcher. The new and improved prototype comprises of alterations and enhancements over the first edition. The electro-permanent magnets assembled on the endoskeleton bombard grasps the modules in positions holding the 720p display at the nucleus.

This latest prototype supports 3G modem and RF bus for attachment of various modules to the modem. Pollution sensor is a newly added attribute to the device. In addition Google is also  in process to add 4G feature to this modular phone.

Coming to the specs, the device supports an amazing 720p display module. Inclusion of the dying sublimation technology, replacing the self customization via 3D print feature for users is the most noticeable alteration made in the latest version delivering to its users to print their images on injection-molded shells in high resolution. The proximity sensor and the ear piece are brought in sync through the receiver module.

Paul Eremenko, lead at Project Ara, said,  that 20 percent of the battery gets drained only to sustain the connectivity among the modules and the team is still in process in overcoming and improvising some battery related issues. Google has also assured to recur stronger with improved long lasting battery life, more appealing camera and a 4G support in the third phase- Spiral 3.
