Gionee Launches Pioneer P3, A Q-Core Smartphone At 7,499


Bangalore: The Chinese handset maker, Gionee, which is getting quite a popularity in India, thanks for its blockbuster Elife series of handsets, has now came up with a quad-core powered budget Smartphone, Pioneer P3, at 7,499. The handset apparently is the cheapest q-core Smartphone in India.

The handset sports a 4 inch display at 800 x 480 pixels resolution display and is powered by 1.3 GHz quad-core processor coupled with 512 MB RAM and Mali 400MP GPU. The device runs on Android 4.2 Jelly Bean mobile operating system. Pioneer P3 comes with 4 GB of internal memory, which can be expanded to 32 GB via microSD card.   

The device packs a 1700 mAh battery which as Gionee claims, provides 8-12 hours of talktime and 10-12 days of standby. The 11.1 mm thick sleek handset supports dual SIM with dual standby facility. For connectivity options, it has also WiFi, Bluetooth 4.0, and micro USB port.

The optics of the P3 includes a 5 megapixel rear auto focus camera, coupled with LED flash and a 0.3 megapixel front camera. The device apparently dishes out good snapshots and a good quality of video calls. The device has FM radio as well.

The device also sports guest mode and supports OTA (Over the Air) function which allows for software upgrades. It comes preinstalled with a proprietary Gionee Xender that lets user share big files easily.
