Expect Android powered Micromax Bling 2 in May


Bangalore: Riding on the success of Micromax Bling, the mobile phone manufacturer is planning to introduce Bling 2, a successor to Bling Q55 soon. According to reports, the Bling 2 will have Android 2.2 operating system although the original Bling phone was a feature phone. Bling 2 is expected to add more features to its basic model such as a 3/3.2 inch capacitive display, 600 MHz processor, and 3MP camera. The original Bling had a display of TFT, 256K colors 320 x 240 pixels, and 2.4 inches QWERTY keyboard and a 2 MP camera. Micromax scored a fast growth rate with its verity of handsets like Micromax X560, A60, C114, touch screen sets like EG333, Bling Q55, Q50 among many others. They have been launching handsets both GSM & CDMA enabled and dual SIM phones as well. Ever since its entry into the Indian mobile market, the overall market share of the company has gone up from 0.59 percent for the quarter ended September 30, 2008 to 6.24 percent for the quarter ended March 31, 2010.
