Epson launches new wireless network printer

Bangalore: Epson, a digital imaging and printing solutions company has introduced a new all-in-one wireless network printer, the Epson Stylus TX550W, thus expanding its range of wireless printing devices. This printer is an update to the Epson Stylus TX400 model with more user friendly features, including the option of using high capacity Epson INKdividual cartridges. Not only does this device provide users with colour printing, copying and scanning functionality in a compact framework, but it also features wireless networking capability, allowing it to be shared among multiple users. This cuts down on cost and inconvenience of using wired connections. Additionally, it has features including direct access buttons for immediate copying, photo printing and scanning to PC/PFD/email. It has memory card slots for direct photo printing. A large 2.5-inch LCD on the device provides users visual indications of operations as well as previews photos to be printed. Its print speed of 36 pages per minute helps to boost users' productivity even further. The Epson Stylus TX550W features the proprietary Epson Micro Piezo print head with Variable-Sized Droplet Technology (VSDT) that achieves a maximum print resolution of 5760 x 1440 dpi for extremely smooth image gradations. This comes along with the Epson DURABrite pigment inks that deliver sharp black text as well as glossy photos which are long-lasting, smudge, fade and water resistant. Since the inks are contained in four separate Epson INKdividual cartridges, users only need to replace the specific colour that has run out instead of changing the full set thereby reducing wastage and maximizing cost savings. The wireless network printer comes bundled with the Epson Creativity Suite, which includes, Epson Claria PhotoEnhance (that enables users to edit their photos by adjusting exposure levels, skin tones, and colour casts), Epson Portrait Enhance (that gives portraits a natural-looking glow) and Red Eye Correction. The Epson Stylus TX550W which is priced at 8999 (MRP) will be available from August 2009.
