Endowed with Jaw-dropping Features, Xiaomi Rolls Out its Mi5 Black Colour Variant


BANGALORE: Soon after the launch of the white colour version of Xiaomi’s flagship Mi5 smartphone back in March, the company is all set to repeat its magical feat again by announcing the Black colour variant in India. The phone is effectively set for sale on Flipkart and Amazon India. Previously, Xiaomi’s Global Vice President Hugo Barra had confirmed to NDTV Gadgets 360 that the firm was working on to launch the Black colour variant of Mi 5 in the country. In a recent Facebook post, the company also stated that the Gold colour variant of Mi5 will also be a part of their offerings in India very soon, but did not provide any specific date.

In spite of the high demand for more variants, Xiaomi had only managed to bring the 3GB RAM/ 32GB built-in storage variant to India. The Xiaomi Mi 5 is a dual-SIM (Nano + Nano) smartphone featuring a 5.15-inch full-HD (1080x1920 pixels) display clubbed with a curved 3D Ceramic glass. It also delivers a pixel density of about 428ppi. Aiming to trigger high speed processing, the phone is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 processor combined with an Adreno 530 GPU.

Focusing on the aspect of high-end image capturing abilities, the phone sports a 16-megapixel rear camera embedded with Sony IMX298 camera sensor that includes a PDAF (phase detection autofocus) and LED flash. The camera also features a 4-axis OIS (optical image stabilization) capability and sapphire glass protection lens. The smartphone effectively supports 4K video recording; that comes as an exceptional piece of innovation.

Backed up by a 3000mAh battery, the phone also supports Qualcomm Quick Charge 3.0. which is 20 percent faster than the predecessor version 2.0. In terms of connectivity, the company has incorporated a VoLTE support, 4G, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/ac, Bluetooth 4.2, NFC, Glonass and an onboard USB Type-C port.
