Canon India Launches Pixma Pro Printers For Photo Professionals

Bangalore: Digital imaging company Canon unveiled Pixma Pro series printers for professionals looking for in-house photo printing solutions. It hopes to mark the professional photo printing market in India with the launch of Pixma Pro – 1, Pixma Pro – 10 and Pixma Pro – 100.

The flagship of the series, Pixma – Pro 1 has 12 coloured ink tanks and 5 monochrome inks to smoothen gradation and suppress graininess. This printer has 36 ml ink tanks and comes with a two – way paper feeder at the rear and a dedicated paper feed slot for manual feed up of 14” x 17” media and thick paper. It includes an Ethernet port and can print bordered A3 full colour photograph in 4 minutes 20 seconds. The system is priced up to 94, 860 as mentioned by NDTV gadgets.

Pixma – Pro 10 uses a 10 ink coloured system, and three different monochromatic inks - Photo Black, Matte Black and Grey. The system which is priced at 65, 995 ensures that blacks are denser while reducing bronzing. It also enhances the quality of printing in terms of glossiness.

Finally, Canon Pixma Pro 100, which is comparatively cheaper at 47, 995 comes with 8 – colour dye ink system, including three monochromatic inks – Black, Grey and Light Grey.

According to Infotech Lead, the average lifespan of this printer is 200 years.

Kazutada Kobayashi, President and CEO of Canon India said that India is one of the crucial markets in the APAC region for Canon and with a large number of growing photographers here, Pixma Pro would be an innovative solution for their needs.

Besides, canon has also launched the LU – 101 Photo Paper Pro Luster, a new semi gloss paper that holds colour consistently under display lighting – making it ideal for studio exhibitions and special events.
