Can Samsung Upset Apple's Dominance With S6 Launch?

BANGALORE: Samsung launched its Galaxy S6 finally with its notable and extraordinary design. Samsung has been the talk of the town for a steep downfall in the smartphone. However, the company has advanced to make amendments for regaining the lost glory. And finally, Samsung has hit it right with the sleek design of its new product, reports Tech2.

Yet speculations soar high if the design alone can pose a threat against the current dominant iPhone6. Would the history repeat itself where Samgsung’s S III had outpaced Apple in sales?

Apple is racing ahead with its iPhone6 and iPhone6 Plus, selling a whooping 7 million phones in the first quarter of 2015. Apple played it safe and sensible while holding its bet on two products bringing in a profit of a staggering $ 18 billion for the company while Samsung couldn’t make it with its plenty of products for every budget.

So today will the Galaxy S6 with its metal frame and glass body be able to deter the market for the iPhones? Hopes are high.

With regards to hardware, S6 undoubtedly holds an upper hand over the S5. Chris Velcazo from Engadget found the new launch quite impressive and smoothly working.

The device is said to be faster, with a souped up camera and screen resolution. But the smart users today avoid relying on the specs alone. That’s where the performance comes into play.

Samsung is even trying to give a tough fight with designs that look inspired from the rival itself. And would these features still draw the crowd to Samsung stores? Meanwhile, the price tag would also be a deciding factor for the sales.
