CDMA iPhone 4 coming to India through Reliance?

Bangalore: After it was announced that Apple CDMA iPhone 4 will be carried by the largest carrier in U.S., Verizon from February, it is now anticipated that in countries like India and China, the new CDMA iPhone 4 will be carried in due course of time by CDMA carriers like Reliance or China Telecom. As per Wall Street Journal reports, Indian CDMA carriers, Reliance and Tata Teleservices have already started negotiating talks with Apple to carry the CDMA iPhone in India. Katy Hubert, Analyst, Morgan Stanley said the announcement of Verizon carrying the CDMA iPhone 4 reinforces her view of 2011 sales forecast of iPhone 4 to reach 72 million units. Huberty's highly optimistic forecast comes from a Morgan Stanley survey that says that Verizon alone could bring in 7-8 million users for iPhone in the year, including those shifting to Verizon. The non exclusive agreement with Verizon could also bring in potential rise in sales of the iPhone 4. Huberty says, "Apple's multi-year, non-exclusive agreement with Verizon opens up the possibility of Apple adding other carriers in the U.S. including T-Mobile and Sprint. What's more, we expect CDMA carrier announcements including China Telecom and Reliance in India over time." It is widely said that if the CDMA iPhone reaches India, a country whose 20 percent of the 670 million subscribers are CDMA users, Apple has huge growth opportunities. Ditto for China which is as an exploratory market for Apple.
