BlackBerry Q10 To Hit Shelves By End Of May

Bangalore: BlackBerry, formerly known as Research In Motion or RIM; has announced that its long-awaited keyboard phone running BlackBerry 10 software, the Q10, will launch in U.S by the end of May.

According to a Mashable report, the phone will soon make its way to all four major mobile carriers Verizon Wireless, AT&T, Sprint Nextel Corp. and T-Mobile USA at a price of $249 with a two-year contact and will be available in Canada from May 1st. Q10 is the second handset from BlackBerry to run BlackBerry 10, Z10 being the first, a touchscreen device that was launched in early February.

The phone sports a 3.1-inch AMOLED 720*720p display powered by 1.5GHz dual-core Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Plus processor with 2GB RAM. It houses an 8MP rear camera of 1080p and a front camera of 2MP with 720p.

The Q10 runs the same operating system but includes a physical QWERTY keyboard along with a multi-touch screen. It provides an internal storage of 16GB which can be further expanded to 64GB via microSDXC. Connectivity wise, it offers features like Bluetooth 4.0, NFC and GSM/UMTS/CDMA/LTE network compatibility.
