Belkin Launches Wireless Dual-Band Router


Bangalore: At CES 2012, Belkin unveiled its advanced wireless router ‘N900 DB Wireless Dual-Band N+ Router’-model F9K1104- which has combined true 450Mbps dual-band and MultiBeam to come up with this high performing router.

With the launch of this 900Mbps wireless router, Belkin has stepped up into completion with Cisco’s Linksys E4200 v2 and Netgear‘s WNDR4500. Belkin Advance N900 DB wireless router can reach speeds of up to 900Mbps using both the 2.4GHz and 5GHz bands simultaneously. It uses IEEE 3x3 standards to transmit three streams, which gives 50 percent more throughput according to HardwareZone.

Belkin says it also support its exclusive MultiBeam Technology designed to deliver "a high-powered signal that allows for higher and more-consistent network speeds and minimizes the number of wireless dead spots." The device also has six embedded MultiBeam antennas which offer range coverage without much throughput reduction over long range.

Other notable features of this new router are; A 600MHz multithread processor to power through media-intensive multitasking, Two high-speed USB 2.0 ports to host storage or printers, Gigabit Ethernet, IntelliStream QoS prioritizes video and gaming streams.

This new router will cost $200 and will reach US market by April. Belkin’s N750 DB was launched in India recently and there is no information about this new product’s launch in Indian market in near future.
