Barnes & Noble unveils Nook Color at $249


Bangalore: The colored version of the eReader Nook was launched by Barnes & Noble. The Nook Color is expected to start shipping from November 19 and is priced at $249. The eReader sports a 7-inch color touch display and runs on the Google Android platform. The new version of the eReader is slightly larger than the previous Nook. In addition to reading books, newspapers and magazines, you can also surf the net, listen to music and play games on the Nook Color. The Nook Color ships with a memory of 8GB, which is expandable up to 32GB with the help of a MicroSD card. The pre-embedded memory of 8GB is capable of storing up to 3,000 books. The Nook Color is Wi-Fi enabled. That means you can borrow books from others with the LendMe app. The new device also features social networking tools- Nook Friends. It is connected to existing Twitter and Facebook profiles. So you see the new eReader from Barnes & Noble no more just serves the purpose of reading but acts as a multidimensional gadget connecting you to friends and taking care of your leisure hours with its networking and gaming facilities.
