Asus Unveils 7 Inch Talking Tablet At Rs.15,999

Bangalore: Asus India has just launched its FonePad in the country. The device which was first revealed at the Mobile World Congress of 2013, in Barcelona is now available at Chroma stores and Asus retail show rooms across India for 15,999.

The device houses an Intel Atom Z2420 processor clocked at 1.2GHz and runs Android Jelly Bean 4.1. There is 1GB of RAM and the internal storage capacity expands up to 32GB from 8 or 16 GB variants of the tablet.

The 7 inch display features LED Backlight and In Panel Switching (IPS) and supports a resolution of 1280 x 800 pixels. The front panel has a 1.2 megapixel camera with 720p recording while the back panel features a 3.15 megapixel rear camera with autofocus and 720p video recording.

Connectivity features include Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 3.0, 3G and voice calls. Powered by a 4270mAh battery that claims 9 hours of unhindered talk time, Asus has stepped in to compete with the likes of 3G variant Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 and base variant Google Nexus 7. However, both the devices feature multi core processor unlike FonePad which packs a single-core CPU.
