Apple iPhone 5 May Enter India in November

Bangalore: There were a lot of speculations that the Apple iPhone 5 would find its way into the Indian markets on 26th October 2012. But as we all know this didn’t happen. The latest news or rumors about the release date of the new iPhone is said to be on 2nd November 2012. We will have to wait until then to know if the rumors of this time around are right.

One of the reasons sited for Apple not releasing the smartphone on 26th October was that it still hadn’t decided on final discounted price of the iPhone 4S which allows means that they hadn’t settled on the price of the iPhone 5. At first Apple reduced the price of iPhone 4S (16 GB version) to 41,500 and within a week they further reduced it to 38,500.

Another reason is doing the rounds is that Apple doesn’t have sufficient pieces to enter into the Indian market yet. This is because Apple is subjecting the handsets to rigorous quality control as iPhone 5 has faced many complains world over; like the purple haze in the pictures and the Apple maps.

Like the previous iPhones, the iPhone 5 will also comes with carrier-based reverse subsidy plan. Airtel and Aircel have decided to price the smartphone starting from 45,500 which would go up to 59,500. These two services providers have also decided to change the user’s SIM card to the Nano SIM size.

Due to the delay, the grey markets have been flooded with the iPhone 5 which have been priced at astronomical prices.
