Apple Unveils New iPod Touch and iPod Nano

Bangalore: Along with the much hyped iPhone 5, Apple also released the new iPod Touch and the 7^th generation iPod Nano. The iPhone 5 may have come as a disappointment to many after all the hype that surrounded its pre-release, it very similar to the previous iPhone 4S with very slight changes.

But the other two gadgets from Apple wasn’t a disappointment at all. Let’s see what these new gadgets have to offer us.

The New iPod Touch

The new iPod Touch from Apple is its thinnest iPod till date. The device comes with a 4 inch Retina display. It functions on iOS 6 which at the moment is considered the world’s most advanced operating system. It is also equipped with a 5 mega pixel camera iSight camera. The Touch also comes with Apple’s famous voice assistant; Siri.

For the first time the Touch comes in five vibrant colours like the iPod Nano and Shuffle.

According to Apple they have redesigned their new Touch. The Touch comes encased in an ultra thin and extremely light anodized aluminum body. This is the thinnest Touch that Apple has made so far and it measures just 6mm and is weighs a mere 88 grams. It functions on Apple’s Dual core A5 chip which promises the user with twice the speed and seven times faster graphics than the previous Touch. 

Apple also promises its users with a breath taking 40 hours of music playback and up to eight hours of video playback. The 5 mega pixel camera comes with features like autofocus, video recording, video image stabilization, an LED flash and face detection as well. The camera also comes equipped with panoramic photography which means that the user can take a panoramic picture by just moving the camera across the scene. 

As already mentioned the Touch runs on iOS6 operating system. This OS comes with over 200 features. The Touch comes with another first; it is the first Touch to come equipped with Siri. Since it runs on iOS6 it also comes with Facebook integration option as well; this option allows the user to post comments and pictures directly with the help of Siri. With the App Store on iPod touch, users have access to the world’s largest and best collection of over 700,000 apps, including over 175,000 game and entertainment titles.

The new iPod touch will be available in 32GB and 64GB models. It will be available in October. The new iPod touch will be available in five colors – Black, White, Cyan, Red and Yellow.
