BANGALORE: Google just released its Android one phones in India partnering with the Indian manufacturers. All the three phones released from different manufacturers have the same specifications and only differ from each other in terms of design. So, let us compare them with the Xiaomi Redmi 1S and the Moto E which are already very popular in the range have sold in huge numbers as compiled by the Times of India.

# Design

Xiaomi Redmi 1S comes with a standard design characterized by the non-stylish rectangular slab form factor. Its corners are slightly rounded and the red coloured navigation keys on the front gives it a different look on the outside. Its back cover is made of matte-finish plastic that looks sturdy while the body of the phone is made of plastic with only the volume and power keys of metal.

On the Android One, Micromax Canvas A1 gets rounded corners and edges. The back panel has a soft feel which is quite similar to the Nexus 5. The camera housing has been marked with a circle that accommodates the camera lens and an LED flash. This has a metallic finish on it butthe users reviews have shown it lacked quality, clearly with no signs of metal usage anywhere on the phone.

Moto E’s body construction on the other hand is quite curvy with rounded corners, wraparound back panel and a bulge on back makes the phone the most comfortable to be held in the palm compared to the three smartphones. The body is made of plastic, but the ring around the camera lens and the volume and power buttons are made of metal with the plastic being used on the phone features a matte finish on it.
