Android L to Hit Samsung Galaxy S5 and Note 4 by December


BANGALORE: Android L is now out in the open and it includes a handful of new features, but what about its release to Smartphones? Well, that is said to happen soon as well. According to a report released by SamMobile, the Galaxy S5 and the new Galaxy Note 4 are the South Korean company’s top priority when it comes to Android L upgrades, and the duo could be set to receive Google’s latest major upgrade as early as November.

Both these phones from Samsung feature heavily modified TouchWiz user interface, this means that it usually takes a while to customize and rollout the latest Android updates. However, the report said that Google itself is yet to reveal the exact time frame for the Android L update for its Nexus range of devices, which are expected to launch in October.

Talking about the software, the Android L is undoubtedly one of the best versions of Android since the operation system inception, bringing over a new design, direction and quite a few important features that include a switch to Google’s new ART runtime for apps, lockscreen notifications, and support for 64-bit processors.

The report also claimed that the 48 models, also include the premium Samsung Galaxy Note 4 and Galaxy Alpha. However, Samsung is yet to make any official announcement regarding the sale of its handsets offline.

Senior Samsung Electronics executive said, "We have taken action against many rogue distributors, who were dumping their stocks online and beating down the price of our handsets. We are working hard to bring back price hygiene in the market. Our revenues from online sales have come down from 30 percent to single digit. We also have plans to stop billing WS Retail, the largest reseller on Flipkart."
