Amazon Starts Selling Mobiles And Portable Media Players In India

New Delhi: Close on the heels of announcing the launch of its India marketplace, Amazon launched three new stores: Mobiles and Accessories, Cameras and Photography, and Portable Media Players. Shoppers in India can now shop across more than 20,000 electronic products.

With this announcement there are now six categories of products on Amazon India including Books, Movies and TV shows and the Kindle family of E-readers, ebooks and Kindle Fire tablets.

Commenting on the launch, Amit Agarwal, Vice President and Country Manager, Amazon India, said “Customers have been asking us to bring the Amazon experience to electronic products in India. We are very excited to open our marketplace to sellers in these popular categories and offer broad selection, low prices, great convenience, and reliable delivery to shoppers across India.”                                                                 

The new stores will feature a full range of popular products and brands from mobile phones, tablets, digital cameras, camcorders, and MP3 players to lenses, tripods, and headsets, to cases & covers, camera bags, headphones and other accessories from leading brands like Nokia, HTC, Micromax, Blackberry, Samsung, Sennheiser, Panasonic, Sony, Canon and Nikon among others.

To help customers choose from this large selection and find products as per their needs, Amazon provides detailed product descriptions, options to shortlist products by features, customer reviews from Amazon.com, and personalized recommendations.

Customers can shop from more than 150 Electronics retailers in one convenient place with several including Croma, Vijay Sales, UniverCell, Saholic, and J.J. Mehta & Sons using Fulfillment by Amazon. Items Fulfilled by Amazon feature additional benefits of Cash on Delivery, delivery tracking to the doorstep, and free returns pickup. As a limited period launch promotion, customers will enjoy Free Delivery with no minimum order value on all orders Fulfilled by Amazon.
