Acer's New Ultrabook has a Separate Graphic Chip


Bangalore: Acer introduced new Aspire M series ultrabook; ‘M3-581TG’ in CeBIT 2012 at Germany. CeBIT (Center for Office Automation, Information Technology and Telecommunication) is the world's largest international computer expo, held each year in Germany.

The ultrabook is powered by Intel Sandy Bridge microprocessor and a separate graphics processor from NVIDIA’s GeForce GT 640M. This is the first ultrabook to have a separate graphics processing unit, all other ultrabook till date has integrated graphic processing unit in the Intel chip.

It comes with 15.6 inch LED backlit display with 1366x768 pixels of resolution, up to 6 GB of DDR3 RAM, 256 GB SSD for storage, enhanced Dolby Home Theater, webcam and for connectivity it has Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 3.0, USB 3.0, two USB 2.0 ports, HDMI and multi-card-reader. The ultrabook is just 20 mm thick, weighs 2.3 kilograms and has an aluminum alloy body.

According to VentureBeat reports, the company has begun selling this ultrabook, but we couldn’t find the price and availability for Indian market, but is expected to be costly with all those high-end features and the tag if being an Ultrabook.
