Acer Iconia Tab A500 now available at $450


Bangalore: Acer has launched a new version of tablet PC, Iconia Tab A500. It is powered by a dual-core NVIDIA Tegra 250 processor. It uses the Radeon HD 6250 for graphics. The product provides rich multimedia, gaming and web experience. This tablet will be equipped with Google Android 3.0 'Honeycomb' operating system. The product comes with a 10.1 inch 1280x800 LED-backlit multi-touch display. It has 2GB of DDR3 RAM and a 32GB SSD installed. Iconia is featured with two USB 2.0 ports, HDMI support, Wi-Fi support and Bluetooth connectivity. It also has a 5MP rear facing camera and a 2MP front facing camera, for capturing HD video and photos. The product has an attractive look also. It has aluminum casing and though its 13.3 mm thick it can be carried easily. The other impressive feature is its ability to run and play premium HD arcade games and complex online 3D games. It includes the multi touch screen and gyro meter control. Acer has recently launched Acer Iconia Tab W500 and Acer Iconia Tab A100 along with the Iconia Tab A500. The Iconia tab W500 and Iconia tab A 100 runs on Windows 7 operating system, which is more expensive than the Android based A500 Iconia Tab. Microsoft also considers that Windows 7 is not meant for tablet device. Apple has also launched Android based Apple iPad 2. The online retailer Best Buy offers the new gadget for $450, which means it is $50 less than iPad 2, UK's online retailer Dixons offers it for $449.99 for the product. Now Acer may have to face a tough competition with Apple and we just have wait and watch why people will go for Acer, when there is Apple.
