ASUS ZenFone 3 Arrives with Big Improvements in Performance & Design

BENGALURU: ASUS, known for its ZenFone series of smartphones has a latest edition to its collection, ASUS ZenFone 3. The revamps of the new ZenFone is in the design, camera, and internal hardware in contradiction with ZenFone 2. Apart from the economic ZE550KLmodel, the gadget is also available in a high-end Deluxe version. The new ZenFone 3ZE550KLcomes with a full HD 5.2 inch screen and 2.5d curved gorilla glass 3 display and it seems good from 3600 of angles. The rear design of the phone not only makes the phone durable but also gives it a pleasing look and feel.

The gadget is powered by 2GHz octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 processor and it comes with a3GB RAM, good enough to do multitasking without glitches and affecting the performance. The dual SIM phone has amicro and a nano slot, both supporting LTE. It comes with a 32GB internal storage capacity expandable up to 256GB via external memory card which takes SIM 2 slot and thus taking out the possibility of using two SIM cards simultaneously.

Android 6.0 Marshmallow with Zen UI 3.0 operating system is backed by a 2650mAh non-removable battery. The phone comes with a type-c USB port, a relief for the low battery capacity and ASUS claims that the phone can give almost two hours of talk time in just 10 minutes of charging.

The all new ZenFone 3 comes with a 16 megapixel shooter on the back and an 8 megapixel shooter in the front. The back camera has a laser focus and it also supports optical image stabilization(OIS). The Tritech autofocus and Pixelmaster 3.0 camera technologybenefit an amazing imaging experience for the users. The performance of the camera in low-light is questionable though, as the images are blurry and appear faded in spite of the laser focus and dual tone dual flashlights provided.

Connectivity options of the phone include Wi-Fi, GPS, Bluetooth, FM, 3G, and 4G with VoLTE(with support for Band 40 used by some LTE networks in India). ASUS has maintained the sensors such as Proximity sensor, Ambient light sensor, Accelerometer, and Gyroscope. Besides the design and camera of any handset, it is the audio experience that interests most of the smartphone users. ZenFone 3 is equipped with SonicMaster technology, which is known for delivering crisp and loud audio experience. The features also include a fast fingerprint scanner on the rear panel of this device.
