7.8-Inch E-Reader, Aura One Launches with Waterproof and ComfortLight Pro Features

BENGALURU: Bookworms always love to read and admire on books irrespective of time and place. E-readers such as Amazon’s Kindle, and Kobo’s Aura H2O help those bookworms read when they wish even at late night. It holds hundreds of e-books and journals on hand, making easier to take and read anywhere, anytime. However, most of the e-Readers emit blue light from screens that can disturb circadian rhythms of late-night e-book readers who love reading in the bath.

To give a comfort user experience, Kobo’s latest Aura One designed with a whole lot of features such as ComfortLight Pro feature that cuts down emitting blue light, resistant to water, larger screen size display, and light sensor to modify brightness of the screen.

The Canadian company, Kobo, developed its new version of Aura e-reader called “Aura One.” Unlike other e-readers that come with 6-inch display, Aura One has larger screen size which helps to read the font of the e-books quite conveniently and can be adjusted according to the users’ requirement for their comfort reading. Aura's 300-ppi Carta E-Ink touch screen devices measures up at 7.8-inches, which is around 20 cm, offers the e-books with print-quality resolution. The company claims that Aura One’s bigger screen size allows wider text space and larger fonts that reduces cutting down on page turns.

ComfortLight Pro feature helps to bring down the emission of blue light and makes it less likely to interrupt the users’ sleep patterns. The device comes with a light sensor, which helps to alter the brightness of the display according to the time to ameliorate the reading capacity for the user. Readers are also allowed to manually select their own light settings based on personal preference. The most important characteristic of the device is that it is resistant to water and can stand submerged for an hour in up to 2 m height (approximately 6.5 ft) of water without causing any problem. The water proof is subjected to the IPX8 standard that aids to withstand water.

Apart from the main features, Aura One is slim and light weight. It supports 802.11b/g/n wireless connectivity, equipped with 8GB of internal storage with 512MB of RAM. The devices measures about 195.1 x 138.5 x 6.9 mm thickness and weighs barely 230 g, both of which are comparable to the smaller Kobo Aura H2O launched in 2014 with a display of 6.8-inches.
