BANGALORE: With the advancement of technology, smart devices such as cell phones and tablets are displacing traditional household gadgets like clocks, notebooks and cameras. This is mainly because the tasks these devices are designed for can be completed using smartphones or tablets. So, let’s check out the 5 gadgets fallen at the helm of smart devices, as listed by TOI.

Camera:  The emergence of Smartphones with its game-changing camera has made the basic digital camera industry to slowly step out from the market. Most smartphones are equipped with at least a 3 megapixel camera that is sufficient for any casual photography one can imagine of. Smart devices providing high quality lenses are becoming more favorable over low-end cameras as image quality is almost comparable and provides much more options than just taking photographs.

“Flip cameras went bye-bye and now low-end camera functions are being taken over by smartphones,” Rob Enderle, principle analyst for the IT firm, Enderle Group said.
In the coming years, camera’ manufacturer giants will have to do away with their low-end camera lines and shifted their focus to the mid- and high-end market, as the low-end market will have been completely subsumed by smartphones.
