At 1999, Mozilla Firefox Launches A New Smartphone In India


BANGALORE: Mozilla is best known for introducing the web browser, Firefox. But this time Mozilla has emerged with a new low-cost phone, just for 1999. The announcement has threatened the android players such as Samsung and Xiaomi into the market who boast about ruling the markets with their low-cost android phones.

Earlier Google announced its plan regarding launching a low-cost $100 android phone, on the other hand Apple is also vulnerable, which has been selling the iPhone 4 in India as an entry-level smartphone for about $245.

Dr. Li Gong, President of Mozilla believes that with support from Intex, Firefox OS smartphones in the ultra-low-cost category will redefine the entry-level smartphone and create strong momentum in Asia.

The brand new Intex Cloud FX will be equipped with Firefox OS, a 1.0 GHz processor and expandable memory of up to 4GB. It boasts dual-SIM capabilities, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi and built-in functionality for users to monitor and control their data usage. The phone supports several languages including Hindi and Tamil.
