2nd Gen Moto 360 Smartwatch to Launch in India on Dec 1

BANGALORE: After the arrival of Apple’s Smartwatch in India this month, Motorola also makes their move by scheduling the launch of their second generation Moto 360 Smartwatch on December 1st. The 2nd gen Moto 360 was released back in September at IFA 2015 in Berlin, reports NDTV.

The new generation Moto 360 Smartwatch is offered in two sizes and sports almost complete 360 degree circular display. The new Smartwatch comes only in 42mm size made for ladies and on the other hand; a 46mm and 42mm screen sized watches are designed for men.

According to the firm, this latest Moto 360 has the largest screen-to-case ratio of any smart wearable available in market. The device is infused with an aircraft-grade 316L stainless steel along with Corning Gorilla Glass that protects the screen from scratches. The watch is also dust and water resistant, as it is IP67-certified.

On the hardware front, the 2nd gen Moto 360 packs in a 1.2GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 processor along with an Adreno 306 GPU. A 4GB on-board memory gives sufficient space to save all the apps and a 512MB RAM helps to process all the tasks without any hiccup.

The small 42mm screen watch houses a 300mAh battery and the firm claims this would last more than a day with the Ambient light off. While the bigger 46mm variant features a 400mAh battery that could last up to 2 days with the Ambient light off.

The Smartwatch is also with wireless charging support and connects through both Bluetooth 4.0 LE and Wi-Fi. It sports numerous sensors like, an accelerometer, ambient light sensor, a gyroscope, and haptics engine. The device also has an optical heart rate monitor that is situated behind the display.

In U.S. the 2nd Gen Moto 360 is sold with a starting price of $299 (approximately 19,800). The most expensive variant will cost $429 (approximately 28,400). The consumers get an option to choose the color combination of their Smartwatch with the MotoMaker too. In India, the new Moto 360 will be made available only through Flipkart.com.
