Nokia Asha 305

Price: Rs. 4500 - Rs. 5000
Asha 305 is a budget phone in the market which comes with dual-SIM functionality, has a touchscreen and gives smartphone like feel. With this phone Nokia is trying to gives its users something better than feature phones and without the complexity of smartphones.

Design: The device is made of cheap glossy plastic which looks neat. The handset has a curvy back and it looks compact. The gadget is bit thick and weighs 98 grams.

There are two physical buttons on the front and there is a big volume rocker, lock buttons, a microSD card slot and a second SIM card slot on the sides. Asha 305 comes with a 3-inch resistive touchscreen which has 240x320-pixel resolution. The screen is small, sometimes the colors looks bleached, the viewing angles were not that good and the screen reflection in outdoor spoils the experience.

Interface : The improved Series 40 operating system is a good thing. The new operating system has a dropdown menu and three swipeable home screens which makes the device a better option when compared to other feature phones.

Nokia has done a nice effort to refresh the Series 40 UI and result is quite neat and perfect. With this new UI you might have a feel of using an Android, but you can’t do multitasking as you can do in Android smartphones.

Connectivity : Internet connectivity is a downside in this device. It doesn’t have Wi-Fi and do not support 3G. It supports 2G where the pages gets loaded very slowing and it doesn’t support multitouch. GPS is missing in the device.

Camera : There is a basic 2MP camera with fixed-focus and we request you keep your expectations low with this shutter. It shoots passable pictures in the day light, but in night everything gets blur. The video quality is extremely poor.

Battery : One blessing a feature phone gives you when compared to smartphones is the battery life. Asha 305 has a 1,110mAh battery which gives you charge for couple of days with normal usage. Even at the low battery level the device survives for at least 12hours.

Verdict: Like the price tag states, the device is cheap! The phone is meant for budget savvy customers who are looking for dual-SIM functionality. But remember there are many Android phones in the market with come in the same price bracket and gives you much more advanced and smart features.
