Motorola Defy Mini XT321

Price: Rs. 10000 - Rs. 11500
The Good:The phone is small, compact and pretty handy. The best thing is its rugged nature, it is waterproof and dustproof. The phone gives superb music experience and comes with an attractive price tag.

The Bad:The small screen is a letdown. Doest sport a good camera and the internal storage is also less. And if you are a nonstop Twitterer don’t go for this phone as it gives some problem with Twitter synchronization.

Design: The phone’s build makes it clear that the device is meant to resist thing, to bear wear and rear and is not at all meant give any style statement. The phone looks likes a little ugly duckling and there is an abundance of plastic in the body.
The phone is well built and the tight makes ensures the fact that nothing can get inside it. The phone weighs 107 grams and is a bit thick measuring 12.5 millimeters. The device fits perfectly into a single hand and we can use it with one hand without any difficulty.

Processor and Operating System:
The 600MHz single-core processor is a disappointment, but the 512 MB of RAM adds some smile. The combination of this hardware does the job well. Make sure that you keep minimum amount of home-screen widgets on. The single-core processor make sometimes makes you feel bad when you try out heavier applications like playing Angry Bird game or using Google Chrome for surfing.

The device has a 512 MP of on-board storage out of which only 165MB is available for users usage. There is a 2GB microSD card included in the set, but it is recommended to buy microSD card with more capacity as the phone supports up to 32GB.

Defy Mini runs on Android 2.3.6 Gingerbread with the company’s MotoSwitch User Interface installed on top. There is nothing special to talk about the interface, buy there are few good widgets which you might find useful.

Features and Performance:

Camera: It will be too much if you expect high-quality photos from that 3MP camera. The camera has a flash and comes with fixed focus. And for this price tag you should be satisfied with it. The biggest blunder in this camera is the shutter lag time which sometime produces really blurred pics.
The outdoor clicks are pretty good and the color balance is accurate, but the indoor photos terrible.

Connectevity With Motorola Defi Mini you will be getting 3G radio, Wi-Fi with support for DLNA, Bluetooth 2.1, FM radio, and USB mass storage for easy file transfers between the phone and a PC.

Battery Life The device is powered by a 1650mAh battery. The phone runs more than a day when the usage is normal which few calls, text and internet browsing. But them the limit is tested with continuous browsing, video playing, calling and texting the charge lasted for only half a day.

Wrap-Up It’s a kind of OK entry-level smartphone which you can carry around without worrying about taking take care of it. The music experience is cool with this phone and the ruggedness adds to its value.
